Montford Express – Time Trial Event

We plan to host our first race event early next year.

This will be SARC’s first attempt at hosting a race event and will be open to Welsh Sea Rowing Association clubs, and possibly further afield. As the race will be held 7 weeks before the 2016 edition of the Celtic Challenge we hope to attract a minimum of 20 boats for the race.

The race format will be an endurance time trial on our much loved “Montford Express” route (Showground to Montford Bridge).

Details are still to be finalised but the race will be held on Saturday the 12^th March 2016 and will be a full day event. The race will be run in accordance with the WRSA rules, and we plan to make food and drink  available at start and finish, and to host a prize giving event early in the evening.

We will need the support of the whole club to make this event a success – we will need volunteers for marshalling. Hospitality and logistical activities.
