Montford Challenge Row – 2017

Due to popular demand from home & abroad ( Wales & Italy ) we can announce SARC is gearing up to host a second race event on Saturday March 18^th 2017.

Format this year will be a Time Trial from Montford bridge. Race start approx midday with Brunch etc available during the morning.

Race is downstream to finish at the Pengwern in the centre of Shrewsbury.

Pengwern will then be the venue for race awards followed by an evening shin-dig with food / BBQ, beer, DJ & live band.

We had a fantastic 25 entries for 2016 race, so hoping to top that in 2017.

In addition on the Sunday we would like to run a short course race competition around the town centre river loop between the English & welsh bridges with start / finish line at Pengwern.

Depending on entries format will be race heats for 2 or 3 boats, going through to semi’s & finals.

We only need 3 boats so no faff, just great fun racing head to head with brunch etc.
