It would be great to go to this race. Apart from being a fantastic event, Rich, one of the organisers, has helped us get this club going by finding us a Pembroke Longboat to row.
Lets go and thank him over a few beers? The race is seven and a half miles, leaving Whitesands Beach, around Ramsey and returning to Whitesands. Rowing time is approximately one hour and twenty minutes. The race will be held under the rules of the Welsh Sea Rowing Association.
Following the race a ‘pie and pint’ await all competitors by the lifeguard hut. In 2012 In the evening there was a ceilidh. Camping is available at East Farm nearby.
The race is a demanding 7.5 miles course around the beautiful and dramatic tidal island of Ramsey. The race is hosted by Porthgain Rowing Club.
